Definition of Done

Work is not complete at "code written." It is complete when it is ready for production.

Checklist

  • [ ] Code is merged to the target branch
  • [ ] All automated tests pass
  • [ ] New behaviour is covered by tests
  • [ ] Documentation is updated
  • [ ] Monitoring and alerting are in place
  • [ ] Security checks pass
  • [ ] Acceptance criteria are met and verified
  • [ ] Peer review is approved
  • [ ] No known regressions introduced

Why It Matters

A shared Definition of Done prevents the creeping assumption that someone else will finish the job. It makes "done" mean the same thing to everyone on the team.
